From intricate macro species like nudibranchs to larger reef fish such as potato bass and groupers, every dive is alive with activity. Venture further and you’ll encounter pelagic species including barracuda, giant trevally, and kingfish—along with unforgettable sightings of sharks, manta rays, and stingrays.

2 Mile Reef alone hides over 20 unique dive sites, ranging from shallow reefs at 12m to deeper dives reaching 32m. Each site offers its own distinct biodiversity. Some are alive with larger marine life and massive schools of fish—yellow-banded snappers, bluebanded snappers, fusiliers, and kingfish moving in unison through the water column.

Others reveal the reef’s finer details: two-bar anemonefish tucked into their hosts, delicate nudibranch spawn ribbons drifting along the reef, peacock mantis shrimp peering from hidden crevices, and paperfish balancing effortlessly between rocks. Every dive site offers something different—making no two dives at Sodwana ever the same.
