The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course is ideal for certified Open Water Divers who want to expand their skills and explore deeper, more challenging dive sites. Participants must hold a valid Open Water Diver certification. Additionally, this course helps divers gain confidence, improve technique, and discover new underwater environments with expert guidance.

What You’ll Learn

The course involves five dives: two mandatory dives—Deep and Underwater Navigation—and three elective dives chosen to match your interests. For example, you may select Drift Dive, Underwater Naturalist, Fish Identification, Search & Recovery, or Peak Performance Buoyancy. Moreover, the training strengthens your diving skills, improves buoyancy control, enhances navigation, and builds practical experience for exploring deeper and more complex dive sites.

Course Duration

The Advanced Open Water Diver course typically runs over three days. Sessions are divided between morning and afternoon to provide a balanced, hands-on experience. Each dive builds progressively, allowing you to practice new skills while exploring Sodwana Bay’s vibrant reefs. By the end, you’ll confidently dive up to 30 metres (or 21 metres if under 15) and be ready to experience new dive sites safely.
